Dog Training in Stamford Bridge

Looking for positive, practical dog training in Stamford Bridge?

Well Behaved Mutts provides reward-based training for puppies, adult dogs and rescue dogs in Stamford Bridge and selected surrounding areas.

I’m Jess Kirby, an IMDT-accredited dog trainer with a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Training. I am based in York and travel to Stamford Bridge for suitable private training sessions and consultations.

Training in Your Dog’s Everyday Environment

Dogs do not always behave the same way everywhere. A dog that listens well at home may find it much harder when faced with people, dogs, traffic, smells and other distractions outside.

Mobile training allows us to work in an environment that is relevant to you and your dog. This may include your home or one of your usual walking routes around Strensall.

Exercises are broken into realistic steps that you can continue practising after the session.

One-to-One Dog Training in Stamford Bridge

Private training allows us to concentrate on the skills that matter most to you and your dog.

Sessions may take place at your home, along your usual walking route or at another suitable agreed location. Working in a familiar environment can be particularly helpful when a dog behaves differently outside the home.

One-to-one sessions can help with:

  • Pulling on the lead

  • Recall around distractions

  • Jumping up

  • Focus and engagement

  • Calm everyday manners

  • Building confidence

  • Settling and impulse control

  • General puppy training

  • Preparing for real-life situations

You will receive practical exercises suited to your dog’s age, experience and confidence.

Puppy Training in Stamford Bridge

A private puppy consultation can help you establish positive routines and begin teaching important everyday skills.

A private puppy consultation can help with:

  • Puppy biting and chewing

  • Toilet training

  • Settling and sleeping

  • Recall foundations

  • Loose-lead walking

  • Calm greetings

  • Confidence building

  • Handling and cooperative care

  • Safe, appropriate socialisation

  • Creating a manageable daily routine

Training is adapted to your puppy’s age, confidence and home environment. You will receive realistic guidance that works for your household rather than a rigid, one-size-fits-all plan.

Rescue Dog Consultations

Rescue dogs may need additional support while adjusting to unfamiliar people, routines and surroundings.

A private rescue consultation can help you understand your dog’s behaviour, introduce manageable routines and build their confidence at an appropriate pace.

Support may include:

  • Settling into the home

  • Building trust

  • Confidence around new experiences

  • Lead walking

  • Recall foundations

  • Handling

  • Calm routines and everyday manners
