Our IMDT Partnership Grade classes provide a structured pathway from Grade One through to Grade Six, helping you and your dog build focus, engagement and real-life training skills.
Classes are held in Murton, York, and are suitable for dogs who have already learned basic training and are ready to progress further.

Grade One – Foundation Skills
To complete Grade One, the following six behaviours must be achieved:

✔ Inspection (calm handling)
✔ Chin rest
This level builds essential foundations and introduces calm, cooperative behaviours.
Grade Two – Strengthening Foundations
Building on Grade One, dogs must demonstrate:

✔ Continued sit
✔ Continued down
✔ Continued recall
✔ Clear jump
✔ Bow, spin, twist
This stage increases reliability and introduces more coordinated skills.
Grade Three – Focus & Control
Grade Three develops greater engagement and impulse control:
✔ Continued loose lead walking
✔ Search
✔ Emergency stop
✔ Meet a friendly stranger
✔ Continued clear jump
✔ Continued bow, spin, twist
This level strengthens real-life reliability and confidence.
Grade Four – Advanced Control
At this stage, dogs demonstrate more precision and independence:

✔ Meet a friendly stranger with a dog
✔ Boomerangs
✔ Sendaway
This level enhances off-lead skills and directional control.
Grade Five – Knowledge & Precision
Handlers and dogs continue refining their teamwork:

✔ Continued boomerangs
✔ Continued sendaway
This level blends practical skill with handler understanding.
Grade Six – Advanced Partnership
